Author Cliff McNish Visit
Cliff McNish - Author
On Wednesday 27th February, the author Cliff McNish visited the school. He held an assembly where he spoke to all of the children about how he became an author and what inspired him to write his books. The children particularly enjoyed seeing the pictures of the dogs which inspired the book ‘Going Home’.
After the assembly some of the children took part in workshops run by Cliff. Year 6 discussed and created ghost stories, linked to the book ‘Breathe’ and years 4 and 5 created fantasy worlds linked to the book ‘Doomspell’. The children were inspired by these workshops and the school is looking forward to reading their stories. Year 3 linked the book ‘Going Home’ to their PSHE topic ‘Dreams and Goals’.
Children had the opportunity to buy a book and have it signed by Cliff. We quickly ran out of books and for those children who did not get a book on the day, we have ordered books for them and the author has signed stickers to put into these books.
Thank you Cliff for joining us for the day. We had a fabulous time and learnt lots!
