Thorpe Park
On Tuesday 15th October, some children in year 5 and 6 were given the opportunity to attend a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths) day at Thorpe Park run by the ACS Schools. Before being allowed on the rides, the children had to collect stamps on their postcards by visiting lots of different activity stands related to STEAM: they spoke to people in a living library, saw and drilled their own wooden men, looked at equipment used by McLaren, went to a petting zoo and created their own aerodynamic cars all in addition to going on the rides! The children were respectful, overcame their fears and worked together as a team. They had a wonderful day and there were continual comments about how much fun they were having and that they couldn’t wait to tell their parents everything.
