Year 5 trip to Winchester Science Museum and Planetarium
Year 5 went to the Winchester Science Museum and Planetarium. We started our day by boarding our double-decker coach bus to the museum. Once we arrived, it was time for us to get straight to business; our teachers split us up into our groups and we put our things in basecamp so we could start our day! Over the course of the day, we got to explore exhibits, do a workshop on light and space and watch a planetarium show. It was a fantastic day!
Our favourite parts:
“My favourite part was the planetarium show because it was fun! I learned what the planets were named after.” – Mahshid, 5M |
“In the workshop, we discovered that lights don’t just give out one colour – they give out a rainbow of colours! We used special glasses to see the colours.” – Tajus, 5M |
“The bottom part of the science museum was very interesting – it had all kinds of space stuff and crystals. There was even a space suit you could go into!” – Amber, 5C |
“I really enjoyed the exhibit that showed how loud the F1 car was – when you pressed a button, it turned on the music to show how loud the F1 car was. It was so loud you couldn’t hear the person talking to you.” – Rami, 5C |
“I loved the planetarium show. It was very interesting and we learned a lot about planets and space. The coolest part was when we learned about the different constellations.” – Maryam, 5R |
“I really liked the gadgets because they did different things and I thought that it was interesting. There was one that wrote your name in sign language.” – Oluwagbemisipoope, 5R |
