School Council

We are the School Council at Minet Junior School.

This year, our student council badge was designed by Dhruv.

As as school councilor, our role is:

• to demonstrate the 6Rs and be an excellent role model for other pupils
• to listen carefully to the ideas of our peers and share their views with the council
• to respect the views of others, even when we may not agree
• to use our creative thinking skills to propose new ideas for our school
• to use critical thinking skills to evaluate ideas
• to participate actively in discussions in school council meetings
• to have regular meetings and discussions with our class

School councilors attend regular meetings to discuss a number of topics, including:

• pupil voice on student learning and curriculum
• behaviour around the school and in the playground
• healthy eating and the school dinner options
• ways to improve the playground and playtimes for students
• fundraising opportunities and charitable donations
• after school activities
