If you have a printer you can print the above files for your child to use. You can send them in by taking a photo of the work and logging onto Purple Mash on the same device and upload the file. You can find instructions on how to upload to Purple Mash here. (This video was made by another school but explains how to easily upload a photo of your work to Purple Mash).
You should all have been sent an email with your child's log on details for Purple Mash. (If you do not have these please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your child's name and new class).
If you do not have a printer you can still take part by logging onto Purple Mash and choose the Tools section. In here you will find a 2PublishPlus. You will then be able to choose a template, complete your work and save it. It will save into your own Purple Mash work folder.
SEPTEMBER 2020 RETURN TO SCHOOL INFORMATION
Staggered start and finishing times
Breakfast club will start from 7.30am. The children will enter the school through the playground and into the side entrance of the hall. They must do this independently as no parents are allowed on site at any time. No child will be permitted into breakfast club after 8.20am.
Year 5 and 6 need to arrive at school for 8.40am
Year 3 and 4 need to arrive at school for 8.50am
Please come to school at the time allocated so we can manage safe social distancing. We ask that only one parent brings their child to school. We will be operating a soft start as usual. You will need to drop your child at the school gate.
No parents will be allowed on site
Year 5 and 6 need to be collected at 3.05pm
Year 3 and 4 need to be collected at 3.15pm
At the end of the day, the children will be released from an allocated point on the front field. You will need to wait on the field 2m apart from other parents to collect your child. Please try to come at the time allocated for collection and leave the premises as quickly as possible so we can release all children safely. Face coverings for parents are encouraged.
Children will be expected to clean their hands on entering school and at frequent points throughout the day. The children can bring in hand sanitizer for their own use and must not share with other children.
Classes will share allocated toilet facilities throughout the day. One child at a time will be allowed to use these facilities. We will ensure the toilets are cleaned regularly throughout the day and that children wash their hands thoroughly after use.
During the day, the children will have playtime and lunch break outside (weather permitting). Each class of children will be allocated a zone on the playground or field where they must remain. Break times and lunchtimes will be staggered to allow enough room for all children to play and eat safely.
First day back – Thursday 3rd September 2020
On Thursday 3rd of September, years 4, 5 and 6 will arrive at school as normal at either 8.40am or 8.50am and will be directed to their new classrooms. However, we ask Year 3 pupils to arrive at 9.30am with their parents. You will be asked to wait on the front field where you will be met by your new class teacher. The teachers will then take the children to their new classroom. The children will be picked up at 3.15pm from the front field as normal.
NOTE: From Friday 4th September, all children will be dropped at the school gate to make their way down to class for soft start at the staggered times.
Children will be expected to wear school uniform. Children will be allowed to bring their packed lunch and a water bottle. All of these will be stored at their desk. Please also bring in a P.E kit which can be kept in school on an allocated peg. The Minet school uniform information is held on our website and can be ordered by following the link page or
Please note trainers are not allowed. We ask parents to respectfully adhere to the uniform rules.
Hot meals will be available in September. If you want your child to have a school meal you need to order this in advance on Parent Pay. If you have not ordered in advance then you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child that day. If you do not have sufficient funds on your account, then you will not be able to book a meal. Even if your child is entitled to a free school meal, you still need to go onto Parent Pay to choose and book the meal.
Water fountains will be out of use, please bring a water bottle to school. All equipment including footballs, netballs and tennis balls are not allowed to be brought into school. No items from home should be brought to school with the exception of a lunch box, water bottle and hand sanitizer. The school will provide each child with their own stationery pack so NO pencil cases will be needed in September.
Reducing the risk of transmission of Covid 19
From September, if a child or an adult from one group becomes ill with Covid 19 symptoms (a new or continuous cough, high temperature or change or loss of sense of taste or smell) the whole class (including the teacher), will have to isolate for 14 days or until they test negative. If there are more children from other groups showing signs of Covid 19, we may have to close the school at short notice. Please ensure that there is an adult to collect your child if they become unwell. Please make sure that you have given the school your accurate phone and e-mail contact details ready for September. If anyone in your home becomes unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, your child must NOT attend school and you must notify the school immediately.
Communication with the School
Parents/carers must not enter the school site and when outside at the pick-up points (on the school field), parents must stay 2m apart. The school office will not be open to parents, you should either phone or email with any queries.
From September 2020 as per Government advice, attendance is compulsory and all pupils should return to school as normal. If your child is unwell please ring the school before 8.30am to inform us. Where possible we ask for all doctor/dental appointments to be made outside of school hours. However, we appreciate that there are occasions where this is not possible e.g. hospital appointments. We require proof of all medical appointments from the Local Authority Participation Team. If proof is not provided then the absence will be recorded as unauthorised. No holiday requests will be authorised in term time.

All orders must be paid for at the point of sale. Orders will be delivered directly to you. If you have any problems with your order you will need to contact Mapac directly.
(There are a couple of items which are marked as purchase from the school. Could we please ask that you leave these items until we return in September. We will contact you all via email with times and dates of when this will be able to happen).
Minet Junior has made accounts for two online learning resources for your child to use at home. (You may already use these resources in the infants, but please be aware that these are new accounts linked to the Junior School).
The details will be emailed to you over the coming days and you will be able to access the resources straight away.

Minet Junior School uses Parent Pay for the booking and paying of school meals. We also use this system for school trip payments.
It is important that you choose an email address that you check regularly. The school uses Parent Pay to send text messages to all parents and at times emails. We also use other email systems to send you important emails. We would be greatful if you could please stick to the email address that we currently hold for you. (This would be the email address the link for this page was sent too). If you decide to use a different email address on Parent Pay you may miss important information from the school. Please see the information sheet below on how to make a new Parent Pay account or how to add another child to an excisting account. The temporary username and password will be emailed to you along with the other accounts previously mentioned.
