Year 4 Culture Week
As part of a vibrant Cultural Week, Year 4 embarked on an immersive exploration of Africa’s rich and diverse heritage. The highlight of the week was a rhythmic African drumming workshop, where every child participated in creating powerful, synchronised beats under expert guidance.
The learning was brought to life by parents from our school community, who generously visited Year 4 to share their firsthand knowledge of African culture. The children were treated to a sensory feast as they took to their feet to learn a spirited traditional dance. Back in the classroom, creativity flourished; students crafted vibrant African flags, designed intricate Somali-inspired attire and produced stunning sunset silhouette paintings. This hands-on week not only showcased the children's artistic talents but also fostered a deep, meaningful appreciation for the traditions and beauty of the African continent.
