Sayers Croft

Day One
The children arrived at school at 8:30am, a little sleepy but with all their luggage ready to go. Their sleepiness was short-lived as the coach journey was filled with singing the Lion King songs as well as seeing if they could spot Miss Sweeney’s car behind us.
After an hour and a half, we arrived at the sunny and beautiful grounds of Sayers Croft. We were met by Emily , our main instructor during our stay, and she showed the children their dorms, practised a fire drill and got to making their beds. Much to everyone’s delight, all the children were able to make their own beds.
Lunch was a hot dog, chips, salad, macaroni cheese and a choice of fruit. It went down an absolute treat and many even asked for seconds!
Shortly after, our first activities began. Loaded with sun cream and full water bottles, the children were split into 3 groups and we completed different activities. Some on the high ropes, some on a challenge course and some building rafts. The children all showed fantastic resilience, creativity and lots of excitement for these activities.
Dinner and evening activities were a calmer affair of beef casserole and giant games, chatting on the grass and playing impostor!
Lights out at 9:30, here’s to hoping a good night’s rest!
See you tomorrow!
