Roman Day
Year 4 students recently enjoyed an immersive Roman Day, transforming their classrooms into ancient Rome for a lively educational experience. Children arrived at school adorned in impressive costumes, bringing Roman history to life through character dress-up. The day was packed with hands-on activities designed to engage their historical curiosity: they meticulously crafted their own Roman mosaics and decorated sturdy shields. The students also put their problem-solving skills to the test by tackling Roman numeral challenges, cracking codes and solving riddles. To further engage their senses, they participated in authentic Roman food tasting and explored the fascinating (and occasionally grim) historical topic of crime and punishment during the empire.
