Our School
 

Minet Junior School is an LA (London borough of Hillingdon) Community School with 4 forms of entry.  We are very proud of our diverse, multicultural population in terms of families, governors and staff.  We see ourselves as a 'community' school in all senses and are committed to work with external agencies, other schools and our local community. 

The school opened in 1957, situated close to Hayes Town.  It originally had 10 classrooms in the main block, with an ICT suite, staffroom and a number of converted smaller teaching areas.  This building is on 2 levels and has an access lift to the first floor.  Additionally a temporary building was added due to the expansion of the school to 4 form entry. 

In 2023/4, the school was refurbished and had 6 classrooms added onto the end of it.  The school now has fantastic modern facilities including 16 classrooms, a brand new IT suite, several intervention rooms, new office space and air conditioning throughout. There is another external building block containing a library, meetings room, kitchen, staff gym and an area for our thrive practitioner and family support worker. 

The playground has also been resurfaced and re-marked which along with the the two large fields gives the children fantastic space for learning and playing in.  We have an outside classroom and a poly tunnel for growing fruits and vegetables in.

The school follows the National Curriculum and we are keen to take on new projects,  initiatives and interventions that will support raising standards and promote pupil development.  The school has achieved the Quality Skills Mark, PE Bronze award, Primary Science Quality mark, Eco-Schools Green Flag, Travel Gold award and Healthy Schools London Gold award.  We are Silver P4C (Philosophy) and a Rights Respecting, Silver award School.  We also hold the Investors in People Gold award.
