OLYMPIC CHAMPION VISIT - LUKE LENNON-FORD
SPORTS FOR CHAMPIONS
LUKE LENNON-FORD OLYMPIC CHAMPION
On Wednesday 15th January 2020, Luke Lennon-Ford visited Minet Junior School. Luke is an Olympic 400m sprinter. In 2010, he received a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships and in 2011 he received gold and bronze medals at the European U23 Championships.
During Luke’s visit, he led a sponsored fitness circuit with the children to introduce them to his sport. The children thoroughly enjoyed being physically active and tried their very best to complete each station with as many reps as they could. The children learnt many new exercises, worked very hard and had great fun!
Afterwards, Luke delivered an inspirational assembly and gave them a demonstration of his sport. They learnt all about Luke’s training regime and the importance of eating healthy food and drinking lots of water. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching Luke’s races and they asked him many questions about his successes and how they could become athletes like him.
