Year 5 Viking Day

On Tuesday 18^th October, Year 5 celebrated ‘Viking Day’ by dressing up as Vikings and taking part in fun, educational activities. The children were fully immersed in Viking culture by cooking oatcakes, which are a sweet treat that comes from the Viking era. They created, designed and made Viking shields, which were unique to each child. In addition, during Physical Education the children replicated battle movements and ship oaring movements like Vikings did in the past. The children had a lot of fun and very much enjoyed the whole day!
