They took part in several exciting activities such as a bhangra dancing workshop and a cultural meal, kindly hosted by some of our parent volunteers. The children were also able to develop their knowledge of the Asian culture by creating an information poster that collated all of their learning over the week. The children had a wonderful time and Year 5 would like to thank everyone who helped make their week so special.

  • Year 4 Cultural Week

    Fri 19 May 2023

Year 4 had a wonderful time learning about Africa, with a special  focus on Somalia.  The children participated in an African drums and dance workshop, where they learned about the music and dance that are so important in African culture. They also had the opportunity to create some beautiful African animal silhouettes and learn about Ndebele art. As part of our learning, we were fortunate to have some parents come and help us learn more about the Somalian culture. The children were able to taste some traditional Somalian food and enjoy a dance. We are so grateful to all of the parent helpers who came and shared this  experience with us. We are proud of the curiosity and open-mindedness that our students have demonstrated throughout this learning experience.
